A National Lok Adalat was held today in the premises of District court complex Shopian under the chairmanship of Ashok Kumar Shavana Chairman District Legal Service Authority Shopian, Chairman Tehsil Legal Services Committee Shopian, SS Bali and secretary District Legal Services Authority Shopian, Lubna Sultan.During the proceedings, nine benches were constituted for taking up cases of matrimonial act, land acquisition, criminal compoundable, electricity bills, bank recovery, etc.In the said National Lok Adalat 381 cases of different nature including Pre-Litigation were taken up, out of which 186 cases has been settled by Mediation and reconciliation.An amount of Rs 53750 has been recovered as fine and same has been deposited in Government Treasury. However, Rs 50000 were realized from defaulters in bank recovery cases. Besides that, an amount of Rs 4153800 was also realized in different cases, which was paid to the beneficiaries.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Shopain Parvaiz Sajad Ganie, SDM Zainapora, Bar member’s litigants, staff members, Senior District Officers of District Administration and other prominent citizens attended the Lok Adalat.Similarly, National Lok Adalat was held in District Court Anantnag in which 357 cases of different nature were solved amicably, in two seprate benches.The first bench consisted of CJM Anantnag and Munsif while as second bench consisted of District Mobile Magistrate Anantnag and a senior advocate.On the occasion, Rs. 55800 were recovered against the electric and traffic chalans while as Rs. 338017 were recovered as bank recovery.A similar Lok Adalat was held at Bijbehara also were 40 cases of different nature were solved amicably.
