A meeting of the Joint House Committee of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council was held today under the Chairmanship of MLC, Ghulam Nabi Monga, today reviewed the functioning of Government Medical College, Jammu and associated hospitals.Legislators, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, Dr Shehnaz Ganai, Surinder Kumar Choudhary, Vikram Randhawa and Charanjeet Singh attended the meeting and gave their valuable suggestions for further improving health care facilities in these health institutions.The Committee observed that the sanitation and other health care issues need to be addressed immediately and asked for action to be taken up in this regard.It was decided in the meeting that the Committee will visit the Government Medical College Jammu, Super Specialty Hospital and SMGS Hospital Jammu tomorrow to take stock of existing healthcare infrastructure and other facilities in these hospitals.Among others, Special Secretary, Legislative Council, Mohammad Ashraf Wani, Deputy Secretary, Council, Ali Mohammad Rawat besides other senior officers and officials were also present in the meeting.
