Angered Kupwara residents broke down ATM machine for having no cash

People on Sunday broke down a nonfunctional ATM device in North Kashmir's Kupwara district.The eyewitness told GNS that the residents angered by non-functioning of all the ATMs including JK Bank, SBI, HDFC and PNB in the entire district, the people broke down ATM machine of JK Bank stationed at Hospital road.The locals also staged strong protests against all these banks and alleged that indifferent attitude has been shown with the people of Kupwara district.They urged bank authorities to keep cash inside these machines if they are useless then remove them.Shouting slogans they said that authorities should understand that people need cash all the time and such attitude by authrities can be proven detrimental in exigency situations.(GNS)
