Poll campaign of Congress candidate for Sangrur Lok Sabha Vijay Inder Singla gained strength on Saturday when Rahul Inder Singh Sidhu (s/o former Chief Minister Smt Rajinder Kaur Bhattal and MLA – Lehragaga) actively organized meetings and addressed workers in the rural areas of Lehra gaga assembly segment area giving a united face of the Congress party.Rahul Inder Singh Sidhu praised the active working style of Mr Singla and informed about the various development works done by Vijay Inder Singla in his 5 year MP tenure including a big ticket 449 crore PGI cancer Hospital at Sangrur, a number of railway initiatives including Shatabdi and Panj Takht Yatra train etc. He went a step further and stated that a youth leader like Mr Singla has a long way to go and he has proved his mettle through his development work in the region and accessibility for people.

Addressing poll meetings, Vijay Inder Singla stated that he is aware of the aspirations of the Youth and their problems and he has been championing their cause from time to time in the fight against drug and liquor mafia who are bent upon ruining generations by misguiding Youth into bad habits. Mr Singla informed the gathering that he has been supporting village Panchayats by giving development grants who passed ‘Liquor Free’ Panchayat resolutions. In Moonak Vijay Inder Singla was also accorded a rousing reception by a large number of party cadre included Youth and appealed to the voters to reject other candidates and give him the opportunity to serve them again in the same way for development of Sangrur region and promised to get projects which will generate employment.

He further stated that the area which was so far being ignored by industry for setting up projects because of the backward region tag will now with ‘increased road and rail connectivity’ will again come into the investment consideration zone and private business houses will also now start considering the Sangrur region as an alternative option besides Government projects.Lashing against Akalis, Singla said that Opposition has nothing to claim for its candidate on the part of development and in its absence only trying to pass on the buck by criticizing the Congress party and our banking solely on Modi credentials. Hundreds of Akali Dal supporters also joined the Congress party in villages Kadail and Maniana differing with the wrong policies being pursued by the ruling Akali –BJP alliance.
