An Amritsar based young author, Simran Singh, launched her first book, ‘Does Love Ever End?’ in Chandigarh on Friday. The young author, who was in conversation with noted authors, Vivek Atray and Khushwant Singh said that it is an inspirational love story that touches the ‘unsaid’ in relationships. There is an unsaid in every relationship that needs to be touched and healed but never before the right time for it.“I cannot precisely recall, when an Economics graduate turned into a full-time writer. It mostly started with Tequila_words – a Facebook page, about a year ago. It got more than 16 thousand followers in a short span. There are stories everywhere. Some hidden under a pile. I want to write everything that is too scared to find itself on paper.” she smiles. She writes for all those who are in love and for those who are yet to meet love.Commenting on her book, Mr Khushwant Singh said, "Simran Singh's debut novel is evidence that Punjab's creative wealth is intact. I am mighty pleased that a young writer has written a book under a genre, which is not only very delicate to handle but needs immense maturity. She has challenged the status quo in relationships and given new food for thought."Talking about her writing style, Mr Vivek Atray said, "Simran Singh's debut novel has been written in an engaging conversational style which does not burden the mind, and rather appeals to it. She has brought out this story of young love with much zing and verve."

Quoting from the book, the young author says, "The ocean blue eyes had met the cappuccino eyes and that is when it all began.” The two protagonists, Alia and Arjun are totally ‘old school’ and their love makes you yearn for a love like that.“These days it is cool to remain in touch with your exes despite being in a new relationship. People are quite open about it, and their current partner as well as their exes, all are pretty okay with it.” says Simran Singh. “It may sound odd or surprising to a few people belonging to the older generation but the phenomenon is quite prevalent everywhere.”This and many other aspects of this generation have been touched upon.Basking in the success of her first book, the author has now started weaving ideas for the sequel of this book. This is what her readers are asking for.“I am touched and humbled by all the love pouring in through lovely heartfelt reviews and messages, from my readers.” She also added, “Currently, I am writing about the ‘unsaid’ of my city. There is so much about Amritsar that needs to be touched and written about. Socially, it is at a threshold of a big change and a lot of question marks! In the last few years, there has been a sea change in the social milieu which has never been talked about. Contrary to pre-conceived notions about Amritsar, it is a city of extremes! I want the world to meet my fascinating vibrant city through the eyes and words of a 23 year old girl.”
