Mirwaiz Convenes Seerat Conference

In view of the sacred month of Rabbi-ul-Awal and Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW), Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (M) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Sunday convened a Seerat conference at party headquarters of Jammu Kashmir Awami Majlis-e-Amal at Mirwaiz Manzil, here. The conference was attended by prominent ulema, Islamic scholars, pro-freedom leadership and a large number of youth. Participants threw light on the life of Prophet Mohammad (SAW) and delivered their views on the importance of this month in Islam. In his inaugural address, Mirwaiz said it was only by following the teachings of Islam that one could find the solution to his problems. He said it also helps one to earn blessing for his worldly as for his eternal life from Allah. Terming Prophet Muhammad (SAW) as a role model for the Muslims, Mirwaiz said it was only by following his teachings and beliefs in Islam that one can become a true human being and would bring reforms in the society by eradicating social ills and immoral activities. Expressing concern over the deteriorating social values, Mirwaiz said that it becomes incumbent on parents to play their role by inculcating in their sons and daughters Islamic teachings to bring positive reforms in the society. Otherwise, he warned, there is no other effective way to address the issue plaguing the society. He further said that Muslims should continue to learn and implement teaching of prophet Muhammad (SAW) so as to reform the society and make it a better living place. On the occasion, leaders and Islamic scholars including Agha Syed Hassan Al Moosvi, Mufti Nazir Qasmi, Moulana Abbas Ansari, Showkat Hussein Keing, and Moulana Shams-ur-Rehman and others also delivered their speeches and enlightened people about the significance of this month of Islamic calendar and about the teachings of prophet Muhammad (SAW)
