Besides performing duty with with honesty and dedication, officials and employees should ensure the benefits of social welfare schemes at grass route level. This was stated by Divisional Commissioner Sh. Kumar Rahul IAS while addressing a meeting with various officials of the department at Meeting hall of District Administrative Complex. On the arrival of Sh. Kumar Rahul at District Administrative Complex, special guard of honour was given to him by Police party. During this Deputy Commissioner Sm.t Gurpreet Kaur Sapra, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Sh. Charandev Singh Maan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Sh. Sanjeev Kumar Garg, RTA Sh. Sukhvinder Kumar were also present.Addressing the meeting Sh. Kumar Rahul directed the officials to redress the public grievances on priority. During this Sh. Kumar Rahul asked the officials to extend the benefits of social welfare scheme to grass route level so as to provide better health care facilities and also to ensure healthy and nutritious food at Anganwari centres in rural areas. He also directed the SDMs to conduct surprise visits at Anganwari centres. He further said that SAS Nagar is the main district of Punjab who shares its boundaries with Chandigarh. Moreover, all the welfare schemes are being initiated from this district. As such, it becomes essential for the district officials to ensure full transparency and to work with full honesty & dedication.

During this Divisional Commissioner reviewed the working of various departments and also interacted with officials regarding the problems being faced by them for grievance redressal. During this he emphasized on providing employments under MGNREGA. He said that farmers should be motivated to adopt crop diversification and efforts should be done for encouraging horticulture. Also Maximum no. of Drug Abuse Prevention Officer (DAPO) should be registered. During this explaining about the various social welfare schemes, Deputy Commissioner Smt. Gurpreet Kaur Sapra said that District Administration is fully committed to extend the benefits of welfare scheme being run by State Govt. to the grass route level. She said that procedure for selecting DAPOs in district has been started and help from General public and NGOs will be sought and involvement of youth clubs is being ensured. She said that a State level Program at District Administrative Complex will be conducted on 23 March regarding DAPO scheme and programs at sub division level will also be organised. She said that rural areas of the district have been declared ODF, whereas, efforts are in progress for making urban area slums ODF. Later, Divisional Commissioner Sh. Kumar Rahul reviewed the working of Farad Kendra and Sewa Kendra and also interacted with general public for the problems being faced by them.During the meeting Commissioner Municipal Corporation Sh. Sandeep Hans, SP city Sh. Jagjit singh Jalla, SDM Mohali Dr. RP Singh, SDM Kharar & Dera Bassi Smt. Amnider Kaur Brar, Assistant Commissioner (General) Sh. Jasbir Singh, Assistant Commissioner (Grievance) Dr. Palika Arora,  Estate Officer GMADA Smt. Puja Syal, District Revenue Officer Balwinder Pal Singh, DSSO Smt. Amrit Bala, Dirtict Program Officer Sh. Amarjit Singh Kairon, DDPO Sh. D. K. Saldi, Chief Agriculture Officer Sh. Parminder Singh, Executive Engineer Inderjeet Singh, All CDPOs, Enforcement Officers and other officials were present.
