BJP started its today campaign here today from sector 42. The party candidate Kirron Kher first paid obeisance at Sanatan Dharam Mandir and Sri Guru Arjan Dev Gurudwara in near vicinity. She later participated in the road show.Residents of sector 42 accorded warm welcome to Kirron Kher and evoked whopping response from the area. Ward number 10 municipal councilor Malkit Singh had especially included a motorcade of vehicles in the road show. People sat on the parapet of their windows and balconies watching the procession. Eager children took her autograph.Kirron went around sector 42 B and 42 C talking to the area residents. Organizers of her visit were members of the Citizen Welfare Society including chairman Ramdev, advocate J C Batra, Rajkumar Shashi, A D Rajput, R K Sud, I P S Anand, Narataram Saini and others.Amidst heavy security she reached sector 28 where she visited residence of Rajesh Gupta and his wife Neelam Gupta meeting the sector’s women.

The BJP president Sanjay Tandon, who is also canvassing for Kirron, appreciated the efforts of area residents. Tandon said that sector 28 is the residence of Congress MP Pawan Kumar Bansal, whose even 15 years in parliament, could not usher in development of the city. “Its very encouraging to see people come out from this very sector extending unconditional support to Kirron ji,” he said. He said that Kirron Kher has come as a ray of hope that has brought together all the party workers and the city as well. “Its said that educating one woman means educating five people in family. We are confident that every one woman here will motivate five people of her family to vote for change. Vote for Kirron Ji,” he added.

Addressing the women Kirron said that the best part of contesting election from one’s own city is the warmth and support people here give. “The last time I came here, In 16 days I addressed 85 public meetings. I kept following up the work of my colleagues. When elected from Chandigarh, I will seek your permission to only go to Delhi to take up your causes. People from all strata of society have got similar problems , which Congress government has miserably failed to solve,” she added.

Kirron then reached the sector 18 government press building where she addressed the employees during lunch hours. Senior leader Satyapal Jain too joined Kirron Kher and Sanjay Tandon. Jain apprised Kirron about these employees not having compassionate apartments. He also detailed about the failed self financing scheme of housing board. He said that people have run from pillar to post in local courts seeking justice, but nothing positive has been done. The city’s administrator working under Home Ministry too has failed to do anything. She asserted that BJP government’s priority would be to provide basic amenities to the city residents. “The way a printing press runs by plugging in at the right point, similarly electing BJP MP would ensure right plugging with the Modi government that translates into good governance. During lunch time, Kirron started her gate rally from the government press.
