Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that it was vital to preserve and conserve the rich cultural ethos of the ancient Indian culture. He was having an  informal talk with the media persons at the sidelines of the 'Indian New Year-2075' function jointly organized by Himachal Pradesh Art, Culture and  Language Academy, Thakur Jagdev Chand Research Institute, Neri Hamirpur and Sanskaar Bharti Himachal Pradesh at historic Gaiety Theatre here  today.Shri Jai Ram Thakur said that our culture was rich, diverse and preaches peaceful co-existence. He said that we all should be proud of our  cultural philosophy and work for promoting the same. He said that only those civilizations progress that loves and respects its culture and traditions. He  said that the State of Himachal Pradesh was known as "Dev Bhoomi' for its peace loving people who have great respect for their traditions.He wished  the people of the State a very happy and prosperous Indian New Year.The Chief Minister also lighted a lamp at the Rangoli at the Ridge on the  occasion.
