With an objective to create mass awareness among the general public about Open Defecation Free under ‘Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM)’, District Development Commissioner Ravinder Kumar today visited Panchayat Ritti of the district and laid foundation stone of toilet complex under SBM.While interacting with the locals, DDC said that district administration has taken various initiatives about making the district open defecation free under Swachh Bharat Mission. He directed the officers to educate people for constructing toilets in their homes and discourage open defecation.DDC said that the toilet complex would be constructed as a part of “Swachh Bharat Mission” launched by the Government. More and more people and social organization are coming forward to promote the vision of Government by making clean surroundings all across the district, he added.He said the Government wants to discourage open defecation and arrangements are being made to promote hygienic toilets in the area and moreover the Government is not only promoting community toilet complexes but also extending all its help in providing help to the poor for constructing toilets and septic tanks at their homes.
He said that the Government is providing best possible resources for realizing this dream of our Prime Minister and we all should work together and start working for this noble cause by imbibing this as our social responsibility.He added that as DDC ‘I adopted the Panchayat Ritti and am working as Nodal Officer for making the locality as open defecation free area. In this regard every district officer has been allotted different panchayats for making Open Defection Free by March 31, 2018.He asked the local people to put in extra efforts for keeping their surroundings clean.The residents and the shopkeepers expressed their gratitude to the DDC for fulfilling this long pending demand of the area and such thing will surely promote cleanliness across the surroundings of the Panchayat.
