Meeting was held here today to review the preparedness regarding the proposed one day visit of Hon'ble Vice President of India Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu to the State. The meeting was chaired by Chief Secretary Vineet Chawdhry.Hon'ble Vice President of India M. Venkaiah Naidu is visiting the State to be the Chief Guest of 9th Indian Youth Science Congress to be held at Baru in Hamirpur district of the State on 7th April, 2018.The Chief Secretary directed the officers to make foolproof arrangements of reception, protocol, security etc for the visit of the Vice President. He also directed the officers to make best arrangement for smooth plying traffic during the visit, so that the general public does not face any inconvenience. He said that Liaison Officers should be deputed on the occasion for better coordination.Shri Vineet Chawdhry said that protocol should be adhered strictly during the visit of the Vice President. He said that the background material of the function must be prepared well in time.All other arrangements for the purposed visit of the Vice President were discussed threadbare in the meeting to ensure smooth visit.Director General of Police Shri S.R. Mardi, Principal Secretaries, Secretary GAD Dr Sunil Chaudhry Deputy Commissioner Shimla Shri Amit Kashyap, SP Shimla Shri Omapati Jamwal and other senior officers of the State attended the meeting.
