Over 65000 children get IPPI round 2nd Vaccination in Ramban

Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Saif-Ud-Din Khan  kickstarted second phase of pulse polio programme at District Hospital , here today.Dy. CMO Iqbal Bhat, Doctors and other staff were present on the occasion. As many as 65000 children below five years age were covered under the vaccination drive against polio in the  district.The vaccination drive between 8 am to 5 pm included door to door outreach programmes.In order to aid the tourists, commuters, and those in transit, the health department also set up vaccination facility at railway stations and bus stops, too."Irrespective of the previous vaccination given, the parents must make sure that their children below five years are covered under polio vaccination this time too.Next two days we also conduct a door to door survey to make sure that left out children should get covered under vaccination said CMO Ramban.District administration setup 416 pulse polio vaccination booths, and deployed 1700 workers, 8 numbers of mobile units. Besides this assistance from NGOs, Anganwari workers, ASHAs, PRIs, responsible citizens including lambardar, Chowkidar was  also taken in the vaccination drive.
