The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi under BBBP scheme recognized and felicitated District Administration Udhampur on the occasion of celebration of 3rd Anniversary of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme at Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan being organized by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, GoI today for exemplary performance under BBBP in the category “Enabling Girl Child Education”.District Udhampur was among 10 selected districts of the country for recognition and felicitation for successful implementation of the scheme in their respective districts.The live telecast programme was attended by, Chief Planning Officer, Ashok Khajuria, Chief Medical Officer, Udhampur Dr. KC Dogra CMO Udhampur, Nodal Officer BBBP Udhampur, Rachna Sharma, Block Development Officer, Udhampur Rupali Vaid and other district and sectoral officers of various department at Conference Hall of DC Office Complex.Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri (Ex-Deputy Commissioner Udhampur) and Ravinder Kumar, Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur received felicitation award from the Prime Minister of India for achieving exemplary performance in successful implementation of BBBP scheme in District Udhampur.During the programme, the Prime Minister also launched National Nutritional Mission for Districts lagging in Nutrition parameters.It is pertinent to mention that under BBBP scheme, District Administration Udhampur organized various activities viz organization of awareness camps in remote areas like Moungri, Yug Dhar, consruction of toilets in schools, construction of bridges to provide access to girl child for reaching in schools, inclusion of “8th ferra” in the marriage to save girl child etc.The local media and general public played pivotal role and extended extraordinary support to the District Administration for the implementation of scheme in the District.
