Member Legislative Assembly Baramulla, Javeed Hasan Beigh today chaired Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) meeting at District Hospital here to review the progress and performance in core sectors of Health Department.The meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning A G Malik, ACR Baramulla Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Chief Medical Officer Dr Bashir Ahmad Chalkoo, Medical Superintendent Dr Syed Masood, representatives of various engineering departments, medical officers and other functionaries of the health department.On the occasion, Medical superintendent District Hospital briefed the MLA about various facilities being provided to the people. He informed the concerned that health sector in Baramulla district has excelled to a large extent and various specialty services are being introduced. Meanwhile, he also apprised the MLA about various issues confronting the functioning of the hospital which includes sanitation, drainage, biomedical waste plant, parking and junkyard and various other vital facilities.Speaking on the occasion, the MLA stressed for effective utilization of resources so that overall standard of the health sector is improved. He said that health is an important index of human development and every step should be taken for its betterment besides prioritizing it.Emphasizing for maintaining hygiene in and around the hospital, the MLA directed the concerned to remove all encroachments from the paths leading to the hospital. He also assured all possible help for the up gradation of basic hospital infrastructure.
