Vipin Singh Parmar inspects 108 Ambulance

Takes cognizance of absence of essential health equipments

Health and Family welfare Minister Vipin Singh Parmar today paid a surprise inspection of 108- National Ambulance Service number HP-63- 4288  at Darlaghat in district Solan. No patient was found in the ambulance and the driver told to have escorted the patient to the hospital.The Minister said that he was informed in the review meeting of '108 ambulance services' yesterday evening that 31 generic medicines, two oxygen cylinders and three stretchers were always there in the ambulance vehicle for on spot emergency needs. But there were only few injections instead of medicines and no oxygen cylinder was found in the vehicle.  There were only two small stretchers. He said that no tools were found in the vehicle to help while accident exit as was claimed to be 21 tools. The hygiene standards of the vehicle were also miserable.Shri Parmar took cognizance on the miserable condition of 108 National Ambulance service and he asked Special Secretary Health telephonically to take action against ambulance operating company GVK-EMRI and submit report within two days. He said why not the tenders of the company be cancelled.
