Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, Rajouri unit organized a day long special public awareness programme at Thanna Mandi with the objective to acquaint people about “ Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Ujwalla Yojana and Rural Electrification”.SDM Thanna Mandi Afzal Mirza was the Chief Guest whereas Lt. Col. Naren Babu of 38RR and Tehsildar.During the programme, SDM emphasized on the importance of information, education and communication skills for the promotion of centrally sponsored schemes by the Directorate of Field Publicity and proper implementation of these schemes by Block Administration.During the event, J&K Bank Thanna Mandi handed over one sanction letter of Rs. Ten Lakh under Mudra Yojna to SDM and 20 LPG connections were distributed among the beneficiaries by Pir Panjal HP Gas Service for promoting Ujwalla Scheme.On spot enrolment of people was done by different departments to provide benefits under central and state sponsored schemes along with distribution of publicity material and pamphlets relating to the formalities for availing benefits of various schemesIt was also given out that that DFP J&K is organizing such programmes in far flung areas throughout the state and similar Special Outreach Awareness Campaigns are on the anvil for Bhalwal and Basohli also. Free Medicines were also distributed among the needy by Health department.
