DFP organizes awareness programme

On the inaugural day of two-day long awareness campaign initiated by the Directorate of Field Publicity, Union Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Unit Rajouri at Government Boys Model Higher Secondary School, Thana Mandi, an inter school quiz contest and symposium was organized in which students from various educational institutions of Thannamandi participated.The programme aimed at spreading awareness about various centrally sponsored schemes viz. Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Swachh Bharat Mission, Pradhan Mantri Ujjawalla Yojna, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojna and Rural Electrification and Connecting Common Rural Masses with nationwide programmes on various schemes.In quiz contest, eight students from four Higher Secondary Schools of Thanna Mandi participated. The questions of the quiz contest were based on freedom struggle, centrally sponsored schemes, J&K state and current affairs.A symposium on the above mentioned centrally sponsored schemes was also organized in which students of four Higher Secondary Schools viz. GBHSS, GGHSS, M.E.T. HSS and Keralite HSS from Thana Mandi participated.In quiz contest, Adil Khan and Sameem Alisha from Muslim Educational Trust HSS Thannamandi emerged as winners while as Mehak Paevez and Sobia Kouser from Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School, Thana Mandi secured the second position.In the Inter School Symposium, students from different schools participated and delivered key note addresses on various aspects and provisions of these schemes.  Saba from Muslim Educational Trust, Mehak Parveez from Government Girls Hr. Sec. School and Zarigha from Muslim Educational Trust were secured first, second and third spots respectively.Principal of the host School Sadeeq Ahmed Ganai presided over the function.The students of Govt. Boys Model Hr. Sec. School also witnessed live telecast of Prime Ministers “Pariksha Par Charcha” programme in their smart class.A panel of experts including Tanveer Khan, Ghulam Mustaffa and Mohmad Qasim Mir judged the symposium.Today’s programme was a curtain raiser for the next day’s programme for the general public which would be held at Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School, Thanamandi on February 17.
