Secretary education reviews progress of works on school buildings

Secretary School Education, Farooq Ahmad Shah today convened a meeting to review the pace of constructions works of school buildings and other works going on education sector Kashmir Division.In the video Conference Director School Education Kashmir along with other officers of the Department briefed Secretary Education about the works which have been undertaken,Shah directed the officials to personally monitor the construction works and ensure their completion before the start of the session.Secretary Education directed all the Chief Education Officers to complete all the arrangements for the smooth beginning of the academic session for the students. He also directed to complete the transfer process of teaching staff before the start of the new session so that the new session starts without any hindrance.He directed the Engineering Wing of the Department to expedite the construction work of the school buildings in order to complete them within the stipulated time. Secretary Education was informed that there are 19 works in progress in Anantnag, 14 in Baramulla, 9 in Kulgam, 4 in Budgam, 2 in Samba, 12 in Doda, 29 in Kupwara, 6 in Pulwama and 7 in Srinagar Districts of the State among which most of the buildings have been completed while some are at the last stage of completion. During the meeting Secretary, also sought details about the release of salaries of the teaching staff.Apart from Director School Education Kashmir and Director School Education Jammu the Video Conference was also attended by the staff of the Engineering wing of the Department and all the Chief Education Officers from their respective Districts.
