A meeting of state level purchase committee was held here today under the chairmanship of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Kishan Kapoor to discuss purchase of pulses, edible oils and iodized salt to be provided to the consumers through fair price shops. It was decided that pulses would be purchased from M/S National Cooperative Consumers' Federation of India Limited (NCCF) which functions under the administrative control of the Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs and   known for quality supply of pulses throughout the country. The NCCF supplies the pulses after careful examination by NBL laboratory.Shri Kapoor said the purchase of pulses through NCCF would not only ensure quality but also availability of pulses on lower rates comparatively. He said earlier Dal Channa which was being procured at a rate of Rs. 6714 per quintal would now be supplied at a rate of Rs. 5300 per quintal, Urd Sabut at Rs. 4800 per quintal instead of Rs. 5130, Moong Sabut at Rs. 6200 and Malka at Rs. 4800. He said it would help the state government in purchasing pulses cheaper by Rs. 2.63 crore.
