Several members today raised issues of public importance during Zero hour in the Upper house.Sham Lal Bhagat demanded establishment of fruit/vegetable Mandi in Asar area of District Doda. He also demanded upgrading of other fruit Mandis in Chenab valley to enable farmers to sell their vegetable and fruits without any difficulty.Ali Mohammad Dar demanded regularization of all daily wagers and workers, who have crossed the upper age limit and are not Middle pass.Vibod Gupta sought shifting of the army ammunition Depot Rajouri from residential area to some other place to prevent any eventuality.Responding to the issue, the Minister for FCS&CA Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali said that the matter will be taken up with Defense Ministry.Pardeep Sharma demanded upgrading of Government High School Chalas , Poonch to the next level, which according to him has not been upgraded since 1971.Saif Ud Din Bhat sought correction of revenue record of the land acquired by the government to establish industrial area in Khansahab area of Budgam district. He said that the Revenue department has mentioned the acquired land located at Kachwari instead of Kramshore, which needs to be corrected.
Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo demanded special package for Kishtwar growers to compensate low production of saffron this year. He said they are facing lot of financial problems and deserve adequate compensation.G N Monga sought framing of a policy for the promotion prospective of Medical Officers working in Health department. He said they face stagnation and remain on same position for years.Surindhar Kumar Choudhary demanded directions from the government to the army for sparing sufficient lane for the people of the area while fencing the army ground in Nowshera. He said the local people are facing lot of inconvenience due to the fencing of the ground.Responding to the issue, the Minister for FCS&CA Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali assured that the matter would be taken with the District administration for an early solution.Ramesh Arora demanded necessary steps to avoid frequent traffics jams in Jammu city, particularly in Karan Nagar area near petrol pump. He also demanded that government should declare Ragunath market and Purani Mandi as walking zone and impose a complete ban on the movement of vehicular traffic in these areas.
Muzaffar Ahmed Parrey sought a statement from the government on what he said, huge number of deaths being reported due to swine flu. He claimed that several deaths have been reported in SKIMs due to the deadly flu and government should come up with a statement in this regard.Showkat Hussain Ganie and Javaid Ahmad Mirchal while drawing the attention of Government towards the newly established administrative units, demanded early implementation of the recommendations of Khurshhed Ganie committee report. They called upon the government to take concerted steps to make new administrative units fully functional in their respective areas.Naresh Kumar Gupta demanded speeding up of work of erecting new electric poles and stringing of power cables in Bhaderwah. He said people are facing lot of problems in free movement due to dug up lanes and slow speed of work.
Firdous Ahmad Tak urged the government to take steps to streamline the work of government offices in District Kishtwar especially in Marwa, Dachan and Paddar. According to him the government departments in these areas are not working properly and face shortage of staff.Surindhar Mohan Ambardar demanded necessary arrangements for Maha Shivratri festival, including availability of essential commodities and market regulation to check overcharging.The Minister for FCS&CA Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali informed the house that all necessary arrangements have been already made for the festivals.G L Raina drew the attention of the Government towards the accommodation problem being faced by the Kashmiri Pandits serving in Kashmir after their appointment under PM’s Package. He claimed that the quarters allotted to them are in shambles and these should be renovated and repaired on priority basis.Sofi Mohammad Yousuf said that the people visiting Tata Pani Ramban are facing accommodation problem and government should take necessary steps to develop adequate facilities for the visitors.Qaiser Jamshed Lone urged the government to release salaries of employees working under SSA.
