Minister for Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs and Tribal Affairs, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali today informed Legislative Council that the augmentation of receiving station, Ganika from 2.5 MVA to 6.3 MVA has been approved under PMDP (Rural).The Minister was replying to a calling attention notice  of Sham Lal Baghat ‘to call the attention of the Government towards the matter that has arisen due to the non-availability of Grid station between Ganika and Ramban district.’The Minister informed that Genika area is being fed from 132/33 KV, 70 MVA Grid station at Khellani which has been augmented from 40 MVA to 70 MVA during the current financial year.“Similarly, the power in the portion of Ramban area is being supplied through 2 11 KV feeders i.e. Kastigarh Et Dessa feeders emanating from 2.5 MVA, 33/11 KV and existing Receiving station, Ganika,” he added.Meanwhile, the Minister informed that the tendering process for augmentation work has been initiated and on its completion power supply position in the area would considerably improve and there would be no need for creation of Grid station between Ganika and Ramban.
