Members of High Court Bar Association on Saturday staged protest against civilian killings in Kashmir.Scores of lawyers took out a protest march from High Court complex here and raised pro-freedom slogans. They were holding placards displaying slogans like ‘Stop Genocide’, ‘Right to Self Determination is basic human right, UN needs to intervene, we want freedom, pellet guns are killer guns, don’t kill innocents.’At the main gate, Bar General Secretary Advocate GN Shaheen while addressing the gathering, said, “For last 70 years Kashmiris are fighting for freedom and five lakh people were killed in Jammu in 1947 while lakhs of people sacrificed their lives in Kashmir so far. Kashmiris have invested in the movement by shedding their blood. We appeal UN, Amnesty International and OIC to take cognizance of the oppression in Kashmir.”  On this occasion, Advocate Nazir Ahmed Ronga said that innocent Kashmiri youths are being butchered while Army is accountable before none. He alleged that Government has been doing only lip service while it has failed to initiate any action against the army responsible for civilian killings. (CNS)
