Justice Ali Mohammad Magray who is also Administrative Judge/Portfolio Judge for District Baramulla today visited Courts of Sub-judge Pattan, Sopore and Tangmarg to take stock of functioning of these subordinate courts.The visit started with an inspection of Court of Sub-Judge Pattan where various facilities for litigating public and lawyers were inspected. Justice Magray offered a patient hearing to the demands and grievances of advocates and instructed the concerned to initiate efforts towards their immediate redressal.During the visit to subordinate courts, the Administrative Judge stressed for ensuring timely and inexpensive disposal of pending cases for litigating public by the judiciary. He also stressed for enhancing endeavours with reference to disposal of cases in line with the mandate of the law and encouraging Alternative Dispute Redressal Mechanism outside routine procedural mechanism by putting in mediation for reconciliation.Justice Magray instructed all concerned to expedite disposal of pending cases with special emphasis on disposal of cases pending from last five to ten years. He called for strict compliance with recently prepared Action Plan for disposal of pending cases to meet the challenges of docket explosion.

He also took stock of e-courts services and the various facilities provided to the general public by use of technology under e-courts project. He himself tested the present status of Case Information System (CIS) online with e-court generated Cause List. He advised the concerned to make proper use of services provided by e-court project.Instructions were also issued for further improvement in e-court project to make it more user-friendly where anyone can have access to case online through recently launched software applications such as easily downloadable e-courtsmobile app and e-courts Services application.During his visit, Justice Magray also inspected ADR and Mediation mechanisms and emphasized on disposal of pending cases through ADR where both parties may have a win-win situation without wasting time and money if their dispute is resolved amicably. “People have faith in the judiciary and the need of the hour is to put in coordinated efforts to strengthen confidence so that justice is not only done but seen to be done,” said Justice Magray.
