N.N. Vohra, Governor, released today a Souvenir “PRATIBHIGYA” of the Baba Amarnath and Buda Amarnath Yatri Niyas, which contains information about various important pilgrimages in the Jammu and Kashmir. On this occasion, the Governor also felicitated Mr. Navin K. Choudhary, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, Mr. Shantmanu, pisional Commissioner, Jammu, Mr. Rajesh Kumar, Inspector General of Police, Jammu, Mr. Sunil Sharma, Inspector General of Police, Security, Mr. Ajit Kumar Sahu, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Mr. Soujanya Sharma, Director Tourism, Jammu, Mr. Rajesh Gupta, Chairman, JKLTDC, Mr. Surinder Mohan Aggarwal, President, Baba Amarnath and Buda Amarnath Yatri Niyas, Mr. P.P Sachdeva, M.D. Shalimar Cattle Feed, Mr. Dewan Bansal, President, Aggarwal Sabha, Jammu, Mr. Balwan Singh, Editor,“ PRATIBHIGYA”, for their contributions towards the smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji and Shri Buda Amarnath Ji Yatra, 2013 at a function organized by Baba Amarnath and Buda Amarnath Yatri Niyas, at Hotel Ashok in Jammu.
The Governor in his address observed that every possible steps are being taken by the Shrine Board to facilitate Yatris during their pilgrimage to Shri Amarnath Ji Cave. Referring to the progressively better facilities being extended to the yatris each year, the Governor said that the yatris who desire to avail telecom connectivity enroute would be provided temporary Sim Card of seven days validity during this year’s Yatra. Advance weather warning system would facilitate the Board and the yatris to use the information for planning safe movement in the Yatra area.The Governor advised the Niyas to work out a comprehensive plan for the facilities to be provided to the Buda Amarnath Yatris. The Governor also complimented the office bearers of Niyas, pisional and District Administration and all sections of the society for making Shri Amarnath ji Yatra successful every year.The Welcome Address was delievered by Mr. Surinder Mohan Aggarwal, President, Baba Amarnath and Buda Amarnath Yatri Niyas and the Vote of Thanks was extended by Mr. Karan Singh Charak, General Secretary, Baba Amarnath and Buda Amarnath Yatri Niyas. Dr. Surinder Jain, National General Secretary, VHP, presented various suggestions for considerations of the Board for more facilities for the Yatris. Many prominent citizens from different walks of society were present on the occasion.
