Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region and Prime Minister’s Office, Dr. Jitendra Singh today inaugurated mega show titled ‘Vision Jammu and Kashmir 2018-Exhibition’ organized by Sansa Foundation in association with various departments of Government of India here today.Member Parliament, Sahamsher Singh Manhas, District Development Commissioner, Ravinder Kumar, ASP, Faisal Qureshi, Chief Education Officer, J.R Bharadwaj, other officers of various departments, representatives of NGO Sansa besides eminent citizens, students of different educational institutions were present on the occasion.The mega exhibition was aimed at to highlight the government flagship programmes in the State.Singh appreciated the event organisors for taking this innovative initiative to aware the masses regarding multiple initiatives and projects taken up by the government for socio-economic development of the nation.

Dr. Jitendra Singh, while highlighting some of major flagship programmes of GOI, appealed youths to optimally utilize schemes like Mudra Yojana and Stand Up India for a bright future. He termed ‘Stand up India’ as a significant scheme saying that this scheme is aimed at to encourage entrepreneurs take up their owm self employment ventures. He said the need of hour is to provide proper guidance and counseling to youth so that they move in the right direction and bring prosperity to their homes as well as contribute in the nation building.Highlighting the social security schemes, the Minister said that it has three components – Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana. He informed that more than 30 crore Bank accounts have been opened under Jandhan Yojana in the country. He said that the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana and Stand Up India are two of the major schemes initiated by the Prime Minister that will bring about a massive transformation in the lives of millions of youth,Dr. Jitendra Singh appreciated the enthusiasm of the students participating in the exhibition towards learning about various departments and their schemes and policies. He said that the exhibition would immensely help in creating awareness about various developments in the fields of Science & Technology, Skill Development & Education, Information Technology, Communication, Agriculture, Biotechnology, Industrial Development, Innovation, Crafts, Culture & Govt. Schemes and programmes.

He added that “Vision Jammu & Kashmir 2018” is a platform for science and technology lovers, Farmers, Traders, industrialists besides students to interact with policy makers, scientists and researchers besides having a glimpse of experiments and researches in various fields.Power Grid, ISRO, ICMR and DRDO were the centre of attraction in the exhibition with their knowledgeable and presentable models prepared with latest innovations and techniques. Besides, central Silk Board and Department of Sheep Husbandry also got a good response.The students showed keen interest in quiz sessions.Later, Singh visited Devika Ghat and reviewed the status of Devika Rejuvenation project and sanitation works around Devika.
