Minister for Rural Development Department and allied departments, Abdul Haq Khan today informed the house that no land has been acquired by the Department for the construction of Panchayat Ghars. He however said the land has been donated by the owners for the Panchayat Ghars.The Minister was replying to a calling attention notice by Ghulam Nabi Monga ‘to call the attention of government towards a public importance that has arisen due to the non-payment of compensation to the land owners whose land has been acquired for construction of Panchayat Ghars in tehsil Uri, district Baramulla.’The Minister informed the house that the cases of those persons who donated their land for the construction of Panchayat Ghars to the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj are under examination.
