Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik on Saturday said the attacks on Kashmiri women have increased “chillingly” but the government led by a woman feels no shame on it.A JKLF statement issued to GNS said Malik made these remarks while talking to the attendants of girls who were injured in Shopian recently.Malik, who was detained at central jail Srinagar from 19 January 2018 was on Saturday released on bail and he immediately visited the injured at SKIMS Soura. He was accompanied by JKLF zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Ghulam Muhammad Dar, Tehreek-e-Mazahamat chairman Bilal Ahmad Sideeqi, Muhammad Musiab and Muhammad Salim Zargar. The statement said Malik and other leaders visited two injured girls namely Saima Wani and Sumaira Jan among whom one is still critical. “Leaders also went to see injured 12-year -old Musharaf Ahmad who is also battling for his life at the institute.JKLF chairman expressed solidarity with the families and also talked to doctors and hailed their efforts.Meanwhile, Malik said the “trigger happy” forces are deployed to kill Kashmiris at will and the only job of “pro-India” Kashmiri politicians, rulers and assembly members is to provide legal cover to these “killers”.

“The so-called ruling regime led by a woman has started targeting Kashmiri women with bullets and pellets. In recent past, two Kashmiri women namely Maisera Bano of Handwara and Beauty Jan of Shopian fell to the bullets of trigger happy Indians and today two girls have been again showered with bullets and injured critically,” JKLF chief said.“All this is being done to terrorize Kashmiri masses especially women folk to stop them from participating in resistance against illegal occupation and oppression,” Malik said, adding, “In past, attacks on the chastity of women and even braid chopping were used to intimidate women of Kashmir and history bears a witness that all these oppressive acts have failed to suppress the resilience of Kashmiris especially our honourable women who have resolved to continue their resistance till the achievement of the sacred goal.” (GNS)
