Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur was accorded warm welcome at different places in Shimla Rural and Theog  constituencies today while on his way to Ani, to preside over Statehood Day function on 25th Jan, 2018. Because of the snow at Narkanda, the Chief Minister went by road via Basantpur, Kingal and Luhri. Addressing a public meeting at Savera-Khud in Mogda Panchayat of Theog assembly segment, Chief Minister said that he had never thought that he would be entrusted with such a big responsibility, as Chief Minister.He said that the in times to come the people will see Himachal Pradesh treading fast on path of development.  He said that in the first Cabinet meeting we were compelled to review the decision of the previous government as they emptied the state coffers and speeded lavishly on a team of more than two dozen political posts of undeserving tired, hired and retired. As many as 30 to 40 inaugurations and Foundation stones were performed online every single day and the plaques were later sent in government vehicles to get erected. This was a new trend the congress  started but I assure that in BJP regime, the Ministers will go in person for inaugurations and to lay foundations stone, said the Chief Minister. My priority was to develop rural and far flung areas, he said, adding that many government institutes were without adequate staff. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was a world class leader acknowledged world over and we have to strengthen him.

Despite change in programme, I express my gratitude to the people who have gathered here in numbers, despite chill, he said.The Chief Minister also listened to the grievances of the people at Basantpur, Jalog, Kingal, Luhri in Kullu district.He said that efforts would be made to fill-up the vacancies in health institutions in Kangal and announced to start science classes in Government Senior Secondary School, Kangal from next academic session. He also directed the district administration to get completed the ambulance road as demanded and otherwise also, the finances for the road would be met.He also announced a sum of rupees three lakh for community centre to be constructed in Kangal. He also announced that the HRTC bus from Shimla to Kangal will touch Mogda as well from tomorrow. Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj, Forest Minister Govind Thakur, BJP associates, Dr. Pramod Sharma, OSD to Chief Minister, Shishu Dharma, Sandeepani Bhardwaj,  Zila Parishad Member, Mrs. Krishna  and others were also present on the occasion.
