for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Gani Kohli today took stock of situation in shelling affected areas of  R S Pura.The Minister took stock of the injuries and fatalities caused to livestock and directed the Animal Husbandry department to keep Veterinary teams   stationed in the firing hit areas for instant treatment of cattle. He also directed them to keep sufficient stock of medical aid and medicines in all affected areas.MLA RS Pura Gagan Bagat, MLC CharanJeet Singh Khalsa, Director Animal Husbandry Jammu, ADC Jammu and other senior officers of district administration accompanied the Minister during the tour.The Minister expressed shock over loss of lives of BSF personnel, and civilians. He paid tribute to the Martyrs and expressed   sympathies with the bereaved families.Meanwhile, the Minister convened a meeting with the officers of district administration at Sub Divisional Magistrate Office, R S Pura and directed the concerned to ensure timely evacuation and rescue of civilians.

He also directed the officers to provide ration, medicine and other essential commodities to the people displaced due to shelling.The Minister was informed that 25 to 30 Veterinary Doctor Teams have been deployed at various places along the International Border including R S Pura, Arnia and Ramgarh sectors to ensure early treatment to the livestock.   Kohli also asked them to conduct door to door visits in the affected areas to provide medical care to injured cattle and other animals. It was informed that    233 animals were killed and 370 injured since April 2017 to January 19, 2018 due to Pakistan shelling.Earlier, Kohli visited Chakrohi Village and interacted with the local people. The people put forth problems caused due to shelling and sought early redressal of the issues. The Minister assured them that every possible help will be provided by the Government to the affected people including ration, medicines and other facilities like tents. He said that the instructions have been issued to the Animal Husbandry Department to provide fodder for animals in the affected areas.Later, the Minister visited R S Pura Hospital and enquired about the facilities available for the treatment of the injured persons. The Minister asked the Management to take good care of the patients.
