Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh flagged off the ‘Bharat Darshan’ tour of children   from Frontier Head Quarter BSF, Paloura Camp Jammu.While addressing the participants Dr Singh, said that it is a great opportunity for these children to know the rich heritage, culture, people and understanding unity in diversity of our great nation. Such tours expose the children to different cultures and areas of the country and go a long way in overall personality development, he added.He said during the tour the students would visit various historical places and get firsthand experience of their country’s rich historical backgroundDr Singh said that India has a rich civilization in context of scientific and technological advances and the youth should have knowledge of these things, which will help in their career.He further added that the interactions with the students of other institutions would acquaint them with cultural diversity of the country and make them committed to Nation’s progress by inculcating sense of patriotisms in them.Total 40 children, 20 boys and 20 girls, in the age group of 12 to 17 years, are selected from remote areas of Jammu region. During the tour children will get an opportunity to visit monuments in Delhi, Agra, Fatehpur Sikri and Amritsar. On 26 January 2017, they will witness ‘Republic Day Parade’ at the Rajpath.  The children are being fully equipped in all respect by the BSF.IG BSF Ram Avtar, DIG BSF Harminder pal and other BSF and police officials were also present on the occasion.
