"The Local Government Minister, Navjot Singh Sidhu has ordered that the display boards depicting basic information on development works being undertaken detailing the cost, date of start and completion of work, specifications, name of engineer in charge and contractor with their contact numbers be affixed at the site of work."Disclosing this here today, the Director, Local Government Department Mr. Karnesh Sharma said that these orders have been given the minister as part of the commitment of the State Government to provide transparent and corruption free governance to the people of Punjab. The Director further said that the display boards should be put up at a prominent place with high visibility until the completion of work.Divulging more, the Director said that this novel move would go a long way in promoting awareness among the public thus making the system more responsive and bringing the quality aspect of the work in progress leading to proper utilization of the hard earned money of tax payer. Besides, the site image of the erected display board would be made part of agreement in bid of 100 percent compliance.
