State Vigilance Bureau today nabbed a Junior Technician and Electric Pump Driver of Municipal Corporation, Luhdiana red handed while accepting bribe.Disclosing this an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said Avtar Singh Junior Technician and Charanjit Singh Electric Pump Driver, both posted at Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana, have been nabbed red handed on the complaint of Lali Kumar, resident of civil lines, Ludhiana city.He added that the complainant has approached the Bureau and informed that the accused Junior Technician and Pump Driver were demanding Rs. 4,000 and threatening him to disconnect his water and sewerage supply connections. He said the deal was struck at to pay Rs. 2000 as bribe to them and they have promised not to forward his pending bills of water and sewerage supply report to higher authorities. After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and both accused were caught red handed for accepting bribe of Rs.2000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.The spokesman said a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against both the accused at Vigilance Bureau Police Station, Ludhiana and further investigation was under progress.
