A delegation of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) led by Deputy Chairman, North CII, Sachit Jain called on Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur here today and discussed various issues pertaining to problems being faced by the entrepreneurs in the industrial belt of Baddi, Barotiwala, Nalagarh etc.They stressed for constituting a task force on specific issues, particularly dealing with the problem of transportation, power improvement and long pending truck union issues.They said that they were facing problem of transporting raw material and stiff competition from Punjab and Haryana pertaining to power tariff as it was Rs 5 per unit in neighbouring states as compared to Himachal which was quite high.  The Chief Minister assured of all possible assistance and said that to improve connectivity all possible measures would be taken.He said that government was also considering using ample surplus land under Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) for setting up more micro and small scale industries.  Possibilities would be explored for rail connectivity, which was the need of the hour for transportation of raw material to industrial units. He said that there was also a need for taking new initiatives in industrial sector. He assured for looking into other problems of the entrepreneurs.The Chief Minister assured to take up the issue with the Haryana government to pave the way clearing the four lane project.Suggestions were provided as how to formulate a policy on renewal energy as adopted by few other states. Sachit Jain also discussed on model policy to be implemented in state for Medium Small and Micro Enterprises (MSME) and a comparison of industrial policies across states which were much fruitful in nature for smooth running of the industriesIndustries Minister, Bikram Singh, Additional Chief Secretary, R.D. Dhiman CII, North Rajesh Saboo, Regional Director, CII Babu Khan were present on the occasion amongst others.
