Minister for Relief and Rehabilitation Javaid Mustafa Mir today informed  the Legislative Assembly that the government has provided Rs 48.33 lakh compensation to  89 affected families of Kupwara constituency whose houses were damaged during September 2014 floods.Responding to a question raised by MLA Advocate Bashir Ahmad Dar, the Minister said compensation was provided for 87 partially damaged Pacca houses, one each fully damaged Pacca and Kaccha houses, under PMNRF, PMDP and SDRF.The Minister further informed the house that in 2014, the government also provided an amount of Rs 5.15 lakh to 13 fire victim families, Rs 1.15 lakh to 12 fire victims in 2015 and Rs 4.12 lakh to 6 fire victim families in 2016-17 in Kupwara constituency.Cable Car proposed for Loran, Tosamaidan: Priya SethiGovt making concerted efforts to promote tourism destinations in Bhaderwah, DodaMinister of State for Tourism Priya Sethi today said the government is contemplating to develop Cable Car in Loran and Tosamaidan to tap tourism potential of these areas.

Responding to a question raised by legislator Shah Mohammad Tantray in the House, the Minister informed that the State Cable Car Corporation Ltd is going to conduct a survey in coming summer to execute the projects at these tourist destinations. She said the survey could not be done last year following   tragic accident at Gulmarg Gondola in June.  She further stated that the government is also contemplating to bring the state’s highest water fall at Nandi Chhol near Loran Mandi on tourist map.The Minister said in this regard, a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for an amount of Rs 9.70 crore have been prepared for development of tourist facilities at Nandi Chhol waterfall. She said the project shall be examined by a team of technical experts for its viability from tourism point of view and availability of resources.The Minister further informed the house that the department is also ascertaining the feasibility for developing parks at Daniloran and Gali Maidan Sawjian for promotion of Eco-Tourism, subject to availability of sufficient resources. She said an amount of Rs 10 lakh has also been proposed for developing these parks during the next financial year under Capex budget.Meanwhile, Priya Sethi informed the House that the government is making concerted efforts to promote places of tourism attraction in Bhaderwah.

The Minister was replying to a question by MLA Bhaderwah Daleep Singh Parihar.She further informed that Pul Doda, Gandoh, Bhalessa have also been covered under tourism development.  She informed that the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India has recently sanctioned a project “Development of Water Sports Centre at Baglihar Dam – Pul Doda” costing Rs 2.98 crore and the work on same is in progress.In Bhaderwah, tourism potential spots of Gatha, Sarna, Teligarh, Sungli, Nalthi, Padritop and Jai are being projected in big way by way of construction of Tourist Reception Centre (TRC), Yatra Base Camp, wayside amenities, etc, she added.The Minister told the House that five tourism projects amounting to Rs 1.20 crore stands completed in the Bhaderwah constituency, while four projects involving a cost of Rs.709.41 lakh are at advanced stage of completion.  Elaborating further, the Minister maintained that the Union Ministry of Tourism under Product Infrastructure Destination Development Circuit (PIDDC) scheme has taken an initiative to bring different villages across the state on the tourist map to tap the tourism potential, promote local art, craft and culture.The Minister added that the Government has also taken steps to tap tourism potential in the areas like Chattergala, Chatri, Gurdanda, Hanga Noori, Tathenra, Bal Padri, Naglotun, Mahulwarkund, Gashir, Kanti, Dhaar, Charala, Jantron-Dhar, Raj Ghoot, Shiviz Dhaar. She said these areas would be developed according to the feasibility and availability of resources.315 road projects worth Rs 2560 cr submitted for funding: NaeemMinister for Roads and Buildings, Naeem Akhtar, while replying to a question by Haji Abdul Rashid in the Legislative Assembly, informed the house that the state government has submitted 289 road projects involving an estimated cost of Rs 2488.06 crore to NABARD and CRF to be taken up across the state during the current financial year.

He further informed that 26 more road projects, estimated to cost Rs 72.26 crore, have been proposed for 2018-19 and submitted to the concerned funding agencies including Planning   Development & Monitoring Department (PD&MD) under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF).Choudhary Sukhnandhan Kumar raised supplementary regarding construction of Ring Road passing through his constituency and called for safeguarding the interests of farmers whose land has been acquired for the purpose.12 roads completed in Chenani constituency: Meanwhile, the Minister informed that twelve roads have been completed and thrown open for vehicular traffic during past two years in Chennai constituency.Responding to a question by Dina Nath Bhagat, the Minister said that seven road projects with 17 kilometre length were completed at a cost of Rs 10.16 crore in the year 2016-17, while five road projects of 40 KM length were completed at a cost of Rs 24.15 crore in the current financial year. He said the roads will connect as many as 12 habitations of the area and will provide relief to thousands of the people residing in these habitations.

 The Minister further informed the house that an amount of Rs 21.33 crore has been released as compensation to Revenue Department for the owners whose land has been acquired for the construction of roads under PMGSY in Chenani constituency. He said the Revenue Department has disbursed Rs 15.96 crore among rightful land and property owners till date. Naeem Akhtar said an amount of Rs 20 crore has also been sanctioned for upgrading   Chenani-Patangarh road. He informed that the work could not be executed as the contractor pleaded that he cannot carry the heavy machinery and other construction material to pass through the bridge over river Tawi at take off point as it has been designed for 8 tonnes load only.The Minister assured that the work will start soon as the contractor has been asked to carry his machinery from the other side of the road. He further said that notices have been issued to the construction agencies for taking up the execution at the earliest. He said while issuing notices, it has been made clear to the agencies that the damages caused shall be liquidated from their due payments as per clauses of agreement.Responding to another question raised by Noor Mohammad Sheikh, the Minister informed that presently there was no proposal with the Government to widen the road from Qamarwari to Gadeh Kadal Chattabal via Veer Chattabal.
