Emphasizing expeditious completion of all development works to extend timely benefit to the people, Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga today exhorted upon the officers to keep a close and constant monitoring on the works and ensure that quality norms are strictly adhered to while executing the development projects.“The government is working on the agenda of development and is committed to provide all basic amenities to the people at their doorsteps, especially in rural and far off areas”, the Minister asserted.The Minister was speaking after inaugurating blacktopping works of one kilometre long road at village Kotli to be constructed by Rural Development Department at the cost of Rs. 28 lakh.Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the development of rural and far off pockets is the top priority of the government. He asked the executing agency to work day in and day out for completing the work at the earliest.Highlighting the efforts of the government in providing better infrastructure to the people, the Minister said that in a short period of time, the government has initiated various development works, while as many have been completed.

“The government is creating adequate infrastructure including better road connectivity to provide better facilities to the deprived and unattended areas,” the Minister said, adding, focused attention is being accorded to creation of long lasting infrastructure in all essential sectors to enhance the use of public utilities.He asserted that the all genuine demands of the people pertaining to the development of their respective areas would be redressed in a phased manner. Stressing on the need to create durable assets, Ganga directed the officers of the concerned departments to closely monitor the ongoing development works on daily basis and ensure that these are completed within the fixed timelines so that people do not face any hardship on this account.
