Vigilance Nabs ASI And His Middleman In Bribery Case

State Vigilance Bureau, during its ongoing campaign against corruption today nabbed an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) alongwith his middleman red handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 60,000/-.Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said ASI Darshan Lal posted at Sadar Police Station Nakodar in Jalandhar district and his middleman Paramjeet Singh of Nakodar were nabbed red handed on the complaint of Mohinder Singh of PS Bilga in district Jalandhar. The Complainant has approached the VB that the accused ASI and his middleman were demanding Rs. 60,000 to settle a rape case registered against his son u/s 376 IPC.After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused ASI and his middleman were arrested on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs. 60,000/- from the complainant in the presence of two official witnessesHe informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against both the accused at VB police station Jalandhar and further investigation was under progress.
