Highlighting the importance of sports activities in our life, Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Sham Lal Choudhary urged upon the students to actively take part in co-curricular activities as helps in channelizing their energy in positive direction and chisel their personality.The Minister was speaking at the annual day celebrations of a private school, here today.Calling for carrying out sports activities on regular basis, Sham Choudhary said that it plays significant role in the harmonious development of a person as it helps to keep our physique strong and active. He said that it goes a long way in making the responsible citizen as it inculcates sense of team spirit, leadership besides, develops confidence and power of quick decision. “Playing sports make us stronger and healthier,” he added.The Minister said that the government has initiated various steps for creation of new and upgradation of existing sports infrastructure in the state for the facility of sports persons for which the centre has provided liberal funds. He said that sports persons from state have brought laurels to the state by clinching various medals at national and international events in different sports.Later, the Minister gave away prizes and trophies to the participants.
