HED to publish departmental research journal: Dr. Asgar Samoon

The Higher Education Department is soon going to publish quarterly English journal containing research based papers on different subjects useful for students and scholars.In this regard, Principle Secretary, Higher Education Department, Dr Asgar Samoon today chaired a meeting of senior faculty members of colleges and officers to discuss the content and modalities of the proposed journal. It was decided that the journal will carry research papers on communication skills, literature and linguistics. The Principle secretary directed to constitute an editorial board comprising of ten members representing different colleges   of the state. The meeting discussed the content and modalities for the promotion of the journal among the students, young scholars and serving faculty members. Dr Samoon impressed on the need to publish the journal quarterly. He further elaborated on the importance of the journal for projecting the Annual Performance Indicators (API) and overall quality enhancement which is vision of the Higher Education Department.   He said such initiatives of the department would help to uplift the quality of Higher education in the state and bring it at par with global standards.
