Governor N.N. Vohra and First Lady Mrs. Usha Vohra hosted the participants of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Programme” which is a youth exchange programme organized by the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Jammu & Kashmir, at the Raj Bhavan here today. 50 Students from Tamil Nadu and 50 from J&K are participating in this programme.Highlighting the importance of Youth Exchange Programmes, Governor observed that these are extremely valuable in promoting awareness, knowledge and understanding of the linguistic, religious and cultural diversity of the numerous communities in our vast country with 1.33 billion population.Governor appreciated the endeavour of the Nehru Yuva Kendra J&K to encourage and enable the participating students from J&K to learn 100 sentences of Tamil and for the students from Tamil Nadu to learn J&K languages.Governor hoped that sustained efforts shall continue to be made to significantly enlarge the scope of the Youth Exchange Programme and advised the Nehru Yuva Kendra to also enable youth exchange programmes within the State of J&K.

At the Governor’s invitation, who is Chairman of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, the participating youth shall be visiting the Holy Shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi. Governor asked CEO of the Shrine Board to make all arrangements for the visit of the youth to the Shrine, who shall be treated as guests of the Board.Governor and First Lady lauded the exuberance of the participants from the States of J&K and Tamil Nadu who presented a scintillating cultural programme showcasing the rich cultural diversity of their States.The Welcome Address was presented by Shri Sukhdev Singh, State Director, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangthan and a Vote of Thanks was given by Sh. Karunakaran. M, Group Leader, Tamil Nadu. Prof. Zahoor Ahmad Chatt, Director Colleges; Sh. S.S. Kashyap, Deputy Director Nehru Yuva Kendra, J&K, were among those present on the occasion.
