The District Development Commissioner, Anantnag, Mohammad Younis Malik today made an extensive visit of Shangas area to take stock of the issues faced by the people.During the tour, the DDC visited Shangas, Chatergul, Chatpal, Dethu, Ranipora, Uttersoo and adjoining areas.In his interaction with the public at Shangas, Chatergul and Ranipora, the DDC was apprised with demands including up-gradation of power and water supply infrastructure, up-gradation of facilities at SDH Shangas, adequate timber at sale depot, authorization of works under MGNREGS, community centre at Chatergul, operationalization of Greater Shangas Water Supply Scheme, fencing of Nowgam PHC, upgradation of Khundpora transformer, construction of Hussaini Hall at Chatergam, and like such issues.The DDC sought the requisite feedback from the concerned officers and directed them to take effective measures for the facilitation of the public.At Chatergul, the DDC directed the BDO to take up developmental works to the tune of Rs 3 crore. Besides, he also reviewed the project work of development of Chaklipora as a model village under tribal sub-plan.Meanwhile, the DDC directed the executive engineer R&B to start the fencing and ground levelling work of the Tehsil premises Shangas. He was also directed to develop the Dethu road onwards so that the agriculture sector of the village is boosted.
The CMO informed the DDC that the matter of upgrading the facilities at SDH Shangas has been taken up with higher authorities.Regarding the power scenario, it was given out that Gopalpora- Achabal power line will improve the power availability in the Shangas area. The DDC also visited SDH Shangas and PHCs of Chatergul, Ranipora & Dethu besides, Chatpal tourist spot, GDC Uttersoo and other WSSs of the Shangas .The DDC directed for upgrading the facilities in these PHCs so as to make them fully functional. Meanwhile, he directed the officers of Forest Department to develop the patch of forest land at Chatpal.The concerned engineer of JKPCC was also directed to handover the College building so that necessary arrangements are made by the college authorities to start the academic activities in 2018.The DDC also took stock of the facilities available in other health centres and the stock position of ration supply. Later, he also inspected the execution work on Gopalpora road expansion and asked the concerned executive engineer to expedite the execution process.During the visit, the DDC was accompanied by executive engineers of R&B, PHE, PDD, CMO, tehsildars Shangas, BDO Shangas, AEEs of R&B and Kokernag Development Authority, officers of FCS&CA, BMO and other district and Tehsil level officers.
