In an effort to provide first hand health care to people of village Thial and adjoining areas, a free Medical Camp was today organized at Government Higher Secondary School, Thial, Tehsil Majalta of District Udhampur by an NGO, Shri Durga Dass Memorial Society (SDDMS) in collaboration with Directorate of Health services, Jammu.Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest RS Pathania MLA Ramnagar appreciated the efforts of the Society for organizing medical camp in rural and far-off areas and hoped that the society will continue its services with the same spirit and missionary zeal. He also said that health care services are one of the essential requirements of the people and the present dispensation is leaving no stone unturned to ensure easy access to quality Healthcare for all.Pathania said that organizing such type of Medical camps provide better healthcare facilities at the doors of the people and called for close coordination between health Department and the field functionaries to extend timely and quality healthcare to the people especially living in remote and far flung areas .
Underlining several other developmental initiatives, Pathania said that 27 roads under PMGSY were sanctioned for augmenting road connectivity in the area .He urged people to come forward and avail benefits of various centrally and state sponsored schemes. He said that these schemes are specifically aimed for development of rural and Semi-urban population.With an aim to provide better educational facilities, the MLA announced construction of 3 additional class rooms in Government Higher Secondary School, Thial under RMSA. Earlier, Chairman of the society, B.D Sharma presented the welcome address and also briefed about various activities of the society. Later, MLA also paid obeisance to Jagan Nath ji Temple on the occasion of Rath Yatra and prayed for peace and prosperity of the state.Among others, Registrar Academics, Government Medical College Jammu Yashpal Sharma, Chief Medical Officer Udhampur Dr. K.C Dogra, Chief Education Officer J.R Bhardwaj, Chairman SDDMS, B.D Sharma, Dr. Ashok Kumar Sharma Eye GMC Jammu Dr. Anil Sharma NRI besides other officers of various departments and representatives of SDDMS and prominent citizen were present on the occasion.
