The Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam, Talat Parvez Rohella today inaugurated Citizen’s Facilitation Centre at Mini Secretariat Kulgam which shall serve as a nodal point for information dissemination, counselling and grievance registration.“The much-needed Citizen’s Facilitation Centre is first such initiative in the Valley which will, to a greater extent, facilitate the public in day to day matters related to employment, public utility services and other programmes going on in the district”, said the DC.He further told that the Centre shall serve as a connecting link between public and district administration which shall be closely monitored by the ADC.Pertinent to mention that the Centre has three counters, related to issue and receipt of forms of different departments, registration of grievances and counselling about different schemes & opportunities.The Deputy Commissioner, meanwhile, told that all departments will ensure the presence of their employees in the Centre as per devised calendar and the Hqr. Tehsildar to the DC shall monitor the performance of their departments on weekly basis.He further added that various financial institutions shall also devise a roaster of their employees who shall be available in the Centre for facilitating the public.
The Centre is entrusted with coordinating with all the departments besides serving as a repository of knowledge of all the schemes going on in the district.On the occasion, the DC said that public can reach out to the Citizen’s Facilitation Centre through contact numbers: 01931260156/ 9622787865 and can seek any information or register a grievance.He sought the cooperation of the public in ensuring the proper and optimum working of the Centre. This Centre shall remain open on all working days during office hours.The inaugural function was attended by ADC, ACR, CPO, other district officers and a large gathering of public and media fraternity.
