Taking cognizance of the media reports in a section of press regarding the serious allegations leveled by the inmates of open jail Nabha that the state government was releasing only those convicts prematurely who were financially sound and have political influence, Punjab Chief Minister Mr Parkash Singh Badal has asked the Secretary Home Ms. Raji P Srivastava to probe into the entire matter to ascertain the basis of these allegations.
Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that the Chief Minister has directed Ms. Srivastava to get into the bottom of the case and submit the inquiry report within a fortnight.
