The Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Mohammad Younis Malik today made a visit to the National Highway to take stock of the arrangements made for snow clearance and disaster preparedness in case of any eventuality.The visit was made in the backdrop of the heavy snowfall forecasting by MET Department.The DC chaired a meeting of the concerned officers at Tehsil Office Qazigund and directed all the officers to remain in the state of preparedness and get up the requisite men and machinery.The DC was informed that 94 shelter sheds have been established besides the health facilities have also been augmented at health centres along the national highway. All officers apprised the DC about the arrangements made for relief and rescue operations in case of any eventuality and heavy snowfall.The DC also visited the RAMKY Constructions Pvt Ltd premises and took stock of the machinery available for mitigating any disaster and snow clearance. The concerned officers of the agency detailed the DC about the available machinery and assured that the agency is capable of meeting any eventuality.Later, the DC also visited the Mechanical Division Khanabal where he took stock of the available manpower and machinery.
