Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law and Justice, Abdul Haq, today inspected the ongoing construction work of Panchayat Ghar cum Common Facilitation Centre (CFC) at Humhama in Budgam district and stressed on the officers to maintain quality while executing the works.
The Minister directed the executing agency, Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC), to expedite the work on the project to complete it within the specified deadline. The building is expected to be completed in June next year.The Minister said the building would be state-of-the-art equipped with all modern facilities available in the building for organising meetings, social gatherings and other conferences.The Minister was accompanied by Director Rural Development Kashmir, General Manager JKPCC, ACD Budgam and other senior officers of the district. The Panchayat Bhawan-cum-CFC at Humhama is being constructed at a cost of Rs 9.28 crore under 13th Finance Commission award.The officers informed the Minister that the Department has released Rs 8.95 crore to the executing agency and Rs 4.32 crore have been spent so far.
The officers of the JKPCC informed the Minister that brick work on three-storeyed building has been completed while as 95 per cent of plaster work has also been completed. The work on truss, plumber related works inside and outside the building is in progress and will be completed soon. The work on the construction of auditorium is also going on.Abdul Haq said the construction of Panchayat Bhawan is part of project 'CFC in every constituency' launched earlier last year and the building includes a Convention Hall having seating capacity of 150 persons, two VIP Rooms, eight Guest Rooms, an auditorium, pantry and a dining hall, besides car parking.He said the building will become an asset for the area as it will serve as a multipurpose centre and would be beneficial for the people in rural areas in catering to their social gatherings, get together, discussion forum and other related needs.
