Governor N. N. Vohra and First Lady Mrs. Usha Vohra, hosted a group of 26boys and girls from Kupwara district who have returned to the State after visiting various places of educational, historical and cultural importance in the North India, at the Raj Bhavan here today. The 10 day tour was organized by the Army’s 47 Rastriya Rifles (RR). The children were accompanied by two of their teachers Ms. Tabasum Kamal and Sh. Mohammad Maqsood Mir and, besides, by Major Rahul Sharma of 47 RR.Governor and First Lady interacted with this group of 6th -11th class students about the places they had visited during the tour and enquired what they had liked the most during the entire visit. The students were very happy about the exciting opportunity which had been provided to them to visit several states and see many new things.Governor asked the accompanying teachers to organize a competition for the children and to write an essay of upto two pages on their tour experiences. He announced cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners of this contest.The First Lady presented gifts to the students and their teachers and she and the Governor wished them a very bright future ahead.
