Taking forward public outreach programme of the Government, Member Legislative Assembly Rajouri, Qammar Hussain Chowdhary today listened to people’s issues during a Public grievance redress camp here at Dodason Kundan, a remote village of Thana Mandi Sub-division.The MLA took first hand appraisal of the issues faced by the public in presence of a team of senior officers of District and Sub-Divisional Administration. The people in large number from Kundan, Kaiyan, Bassan, Bani, Kallar, DodasonPaiyien, Chawatta, Nadyla, Kundan and other adjoining areas attended the camp and projected their issues.They sought construction/ upgrading of roads, augmentation of water and power supply, upgrading of schools and rationalisation of teaching staff, disposal of pending pension cases, besides creation of employment opportunities for the local educated youth.  The public also complained about non-functioning/ failure of newly constructed water supply schemes in the area and demanded thorough inquiry into the matter.  The district and sectoral officers responded to the queries raised by the public, apprised them of latest status of various developmental projects, recorded their grievances and assured time bound redress of the same.

Addressing the people, the MLA said the present dispensation is for holistic development of the state with special emphasis on the rural areas by increasing annual budget allocations manifold.He exhorted upon the officers of various departments to put in coordinated efforts and work with added zeal for overall development of the district and extend full benefit of developmental and welfare schemes to the people.He said the proposal for up-grading High School DodasonBala to higher secondary level and GMS Kundan and Chawatta to high school has already been submitted with the government and being continuously pursued for earlier approval.Later the MLA inaugurated 63 KV transformer installed at Bani which will provide electricity to more than 50 households.The camp was attended by SDM Afzal Mirza, Tehsildar Shahid Iqbal, SDPO Iftikhar Choudhary, Executive Engineers of PDD, PHE departments and other district and sectoral officers.
