A meeting of Committee on Privileges of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly was held here today under the Chairmanship of MLA, Mohammad Yousuf Bhat to discuss the Breach of Privilege given by MLA, R S Pathania against the then Commissioner Secretary, Education Department.Legislators, Usman Abdul Majeed, Mohammad Amin Bhat, Javed Hassan Beigh, Dina Nath Bhagat, Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal and Aijaz Ahmed Mir attended the meeting and suggested effective measures for early settlement of issues regarding breach of privileges lying pending before the Committee.The Committee expressed dismay over the absence of then Commissioner Secretary, Education Department, in the meeting. It directed the Assembly Secretariat to convey a written communication to the Chief Secretary in this regard so that necessary instructions are issued to the then Commissioner Secretary Education to attend the Committee’s next meeting scheduled to be held on 13th December 2017 so that the matter will be sorted out at the earliest.The Committee also directed the then Chief Education Officer (CEO) and the then Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) of Education Department besides Director School Education, Jammu to attend the said meeting.Among others, Additional Secretary Assembly, Naseem Jan, Under Secretary Assembly, Shabir Ahmed and other senior officers and officials of Assembly Secretariat was also present in the meeting.
