Failure of Govt to frame job policy:MGNREGA Employees to observe indefinite strike from Dec 11

Contractual workers engaged under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act will go for indefinite strike and protest rallies across Jammu and Kashmir against government failure to frame job regularization policy from Dec 11 this month.  MGNREGA Employees Association President Jan Muhammad has appealed all the workers to assemble at respective district headquarters from Dec 11 to register the protest.“MGNREGA workers working in Rural Development Department from categories POS, TAS, Account Assistants, MIS Operators and GRS’s since 2009 are requested to make the protest and strike successful one while in Jammu and Ladakh also employees are requested to register protest and indefinite strike from December 11 onwards,” Jan Muhammad told news agency CNS.He said the strike will continue till government resolves their issue. The workers appealed Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Minister for Rural Development Department Abdul Haq Khan to fulfill their long pending demand as soon as possible. (CNS)
