Army installs steel bridge for Nambla people in Uri

Nambla is a remote village in Uri tehsil of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district that is located close to the Line of Control.    Many seasonal nalas flow in the vicinity of the village restricting smooth passage of the local populace. The Khunjuri Nala has been one of the sore issues adversely affecting daily commuting by more than five thousand people during the monsoons. As per a statement issued by Army to CNS, the project of Construction of Steel Foot Bridge at Nambla Village over Khunjuri Nala under Border Area Development Programme (BADP) was undertaken by the Army.

    Under constant supervision, the construction was completed in a record time of three months thereby fulfilling the long standing demand of the locals. The foot over bridge was inaugurated by Mr Habibulla Mir, a differently abled person in the presence of Commander, Pir Panjal Brigade.The bridge has facilitated the movement of villagers along the Khunjuri Nala especially around 400 students to Nambla High School.
